We opted to have a barbecue (Braai) out in the open to attract questions and help us forge new bonds with community members.
This time around for Ng’ombe compound, we targeted young girls in the community to discuss their experiences with menstruation: experience during their first period, what they use for their menses, affordability…etc.
What we found out was that the price of commercial pads was taxing for this community. The girls were happy to learn how to sew their own pads & were looking forward to teaching others.
