WE Mums!

Working to help mothers of children under the age of 5

“Every year, 1.5 million children under five die from diarrhoeal diseases…” 1

Our WE Mums! program is run in collaboration with local clinics. Mother’s bring their children in to the under-five clinic for wellness visits and vaccinations. They are also given chlorine and soap (when available), and are taught:

  • ways to prevent waterborne disease
  • the importance of hand washing
  • sanitation
  • how to clean dirty water
  • how to mix oral rehydration salts (ORS)
  • signs of dehydration in children under the age of 5
