We had a fun and successful Walk for Water on Saturday! this was only our second one, and we had 50 people show up,–which was 40 more people than last year. 2013’s Walk for Water was our first event before we had a board or directors. In under a year we have achieved much more than we imagined at the same time last year.
The only incident of note was that one of our walkers turned into a hero when he had to jump into lake Elkhorn to save a man that was drowning after his boat capsized. We hope the gentleman has a speedy recovery and commend Sean for his bravery.
We had a lot of kids, which always brightens my day! This was an opportunity to make them agents of change for WASH. I thank their parents for bringing them out to listen & learn.
We wanted to take this time to thank the participants who came out, the volunteers who helped us coordinate the event, those that went above and beyond to make this walk possible.
Special thanks to our musician Amilcar Cruz for donating a portion if his time; thanks also to our sponsors: Lifestraw, Pep International & Alpha & Omega Martial Arts and all other donors for having faith in our event.
