Over the last 2 weeks things have been moving fast with our team members in Zambia! The work with World Vision commenced and they have already trained trainers in two districts: Chongwe and Choma. They are headed to Kasama this week which is out third district.
The people being trained are school teachers, headmasters, PTA members, church leaders. They are being trained to go out into the community and roll out the training in various schools and villages which will allow us to reach more people than if we tried to go school by school. This method is so effective that the headmaster at Lwimba School in Chongwe has already rolled this out and has instructed teachers about menstrual hygiene and making cloth pads so they can in turn teach the students! We can’t wait to see the results!
The amazing thing about these trainings is that we have had a good amount of men attending who are committed and engaged to be agents of change. They are here to help women and girls achieve gender equality in the work place and at school.
